The return of the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX marks a decisive moment for high-performance pickup trucks. After a brief absence, Ram brings back its apex predator with a clear objective: to reclaim the title of the fastest and most powerful production gasoline half-ton pickup in the world. Anchored by the legendary 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V-8, the TRX now delivers 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, eclipsing every direct competitor in the segment. With a 0–60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph, the TRX once again resets expectations for what a full-size off-road truck can achieve. This model also represents the first off-road vehicle to emerge from the relaunched SRT Performance Division and the first Ram to wear an SRT badge in nearly two decades, reinforcing its symbolic and mechanical importance within the brand’s performance heritage.

Beyond headline power figures, the TRX’s engineering depth is what sustains its dominance. Power flows through a reinforced TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission paired with a full-time active four-wheel-drive system, ensuring traction across pavement, sand, mud, and rock. A dual-path air induction system feeds the massive supercharger with cool air from both the grille and hood scoop, maximizing efficiency and durability under extreme conditions. Off-road capability is equally serious. The TRX rides on an independent front suspension with forged aluminum components and a Dana 60 rear axle, supported by second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks. These electronically controlled dampers continuously adjust compression and rebound while anticipating airborne moments for controlled landings. With up to 14 inches of rear suspension travel, 11.8 inches of ground clearance, and massive 35-inch tires, the TRX is engineered not just for straight-line dominance but for sustained high-speed off-road punishment. This blend of brute force and chassis intelligence defines the truck’s real-world capability.

The exterior design reinforces the TRX’s mechanical intent while introducing new visual drama. Wider and taller than other Ram 1500 variants, the TRX features composite fender flares, beadlock-capable wheels, functional skid plates, and distinctive Flame Red accents on tow hooks and badging. LED lighting elements and an aggressive flow-through grille provide both function and presence. For buyers seeking something more expressive, the Bloodshot Night Edition adds a bespoke two-tone exterior with a black upper body, a Flame Red hood stripe, and exclusive graphics. Inside, the TRX pushes luxury further than any previous off-road Ram. Hand-wrapped leather, real carbon fibre, suede headliners, and red contrast stitching create an interior that rivals premium SUVs. Heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats are standard, while the rear seats recline and offer heating and ventilation, a rarity in the segment. The cabin balances toughness with refinement, signalling that extreme performance no longer requires compromise on comfort.

Technology is where the 2027 TRX fully separates itself from traditional performance trucks. A 14.5-inch touchscreen anchors the dashboard, supported by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a large head-up display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual wireless charging pads, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system come standard. Most notably, the TRX introduces hands-free Active Drive Assist with Level 2+ capability, making Ram the only manufacturer to offer this technology on a high-performance gasoline off-road pickup. The system allows hands-free highway driving while monitoring driver attention, blending convenience with safety. Multiple drive modes, including Baja, Rock, Snow, and Custom, allow the TRX to adapt instantly to different environments. Arriving in the second half of 2026 with a starting price of $99,995 before destination in the United States, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX positions itself as a statement vehicle. It is not designed to be subtle or economical. It exists to demonstrate the upper limit of combustion-engine performance in a production truck, and in doing so, it secures its place as one of the most extreme and technically advanced pickups ever built.
