Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Edition Review: The City EV As A Fashion Statement
With the latest Fiat 500e, FIAT is focusing less on pure efficiency or raw performance and more on design, identity, and emotional connection. This approach comes through most clearly in the Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Edition, a model that transforms the car from mere transportation into a fashion-forward statement piece. We published a comprehensive review of the standard Fiat 500 last year, which you can find here. Now, we'll be concentrating on what sets this special edition apart, so let's get into it. Our test vehicle is the Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Edition, built in Turin, Italy, with an MSRP of $48,885.

A Designer Edition Built Around Identity
On the design front, the 500e keeps its unmistakable proportions, a rounded silhouette, circular LED headlights, and a cheerful, smile-like lower front end that pays tribute to decades of Fiat history. But the Armani Edition gently reinterprets this familiar look with refined subtlety instead of bold contrasts. Unique understated exterior colour schemes, custom wheels bearing the Armani badge, and thoughtfully chosen trim details give the car a more sophisticated, polished feel. A new Greige metallic paint option also adds a layer of luxury. Along the sides, flush door handles cut down on visual clutter and aerodynamic resistance, while the edition-exclusive wheels prioritize elegance over athleticism. The designer's signature also appears beneath the rear window. The changes on the Armani Edition are understated: after all, the 500e is still a relatively new model, so there's no need to reinvent the wheel.
A Cabin With A Boutique Feel
Where the Armani Edition truly sets itself apart from the standard 500e trims is inside the cabin. The interior features premium, sustainable materials, such as high-quality leather or refined eco-friendly alternatives, paired with tailored stitching and textures inspired by Armani/Casa. The colour palette is intentionally subdued and minimalist, creating a calm, lounge-like atmosphere rather than a playful one. Subtle Armani logos can be found on the headrests and trim panels, and the dashboard treatment feels more custom-crafted than factory-produced. Armani's signature also appears on the dashboard, reinforcing the special-edition identity.
Same Tech, More Upscale Presentation
Although the Armani Edition doesn't bring any exclusive technology features of its own, it comes generously equipped with premium amenities as standard, reinforcing its high-end positioning. A nice touch is the famous designer's signature that appears on the infotainment screen each time you turn the vehicle on or off. At the center of the dashboard is Fiat's 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 system, which operates smoothly and features a clean, modern interface. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard, and the system responds quickly. The JBL sound system is also a welcome addition. The 7-inch digital gauge cluster may be small, but it clearly displays essential EV information and can even show maps when needed.

Under the hood, nothing has changed. The 500e Armani Edition uses the same electric powertrain as other 500e trims: a single electric motor drawing power from a 42-kWh battery, producing 117 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The driving experience is composed and predictable. One-pedal driving is smooth and intuitive, taking much of the stress out of city traffic. The steering remains light and responsive, though the suspension feels a bit firmer than ideal on rough roads, especially for a car built primarily for urban environments. With a claimed range of 227 km (162 mi), the 500e fully embraces its role as a city-focused EV. During our testing in colder conditions (around 0°C / 32°F), we saw energy consumption of 20 kWh/100km in combined driving. Charging performance was also unchanged, with a peak fast-charging rate of 60 kW observed.

For Buyers Who Want Design First
The Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Edition carries a $6,595 premium over the standard trim and represents the fully loaded version of this subcompact EV. For anyone seeking an electric car that expresses personal style rather than just serving practical purposes, the 500e Armani makes a strong argument.
