2027 Ram ProMaster City returns as a right-sized work van
The compact commercial van segment is getting a familiar name back. With the 2027 Ram ProMaster City, Ram Trucks brings its small work van back to the Ram Professional lineup, targeting businesses that need strong utility without the size of a full-size van. Designed with urban fleets, tradespeople and delivery services in mind, the ProMaster City focuses on maximizing cargo space, capability and practicality while remaining easy to maneuver in tight environments.

Built around cargo capacity
The ProMaster City’s squared-off cargo area is designed to make the most of its compact footprint. It offers 4,899 litres (173 cubic feet) of cargo space and a 2,743-millimetre (108-inch) load floor, providing roughly nine feet of usable length. There’s also more than 1,219 millimetres (48 inches) between the rear wheel wells, allowing the van to carry two standard pallets placed front to back.
Loading is handled by standard 180-degree rear swing doors, while a new available rear liftgate provides an alternative for delivery-oriented users.

Compact size, strong capability
Despite its manageable size, the ProMaster City delivers solid work capability. Ram targets 907 kilograms (2,000 pounds) of payload capacity along with up to 907 kilograms (2,000 pounds) of towing capacity. Its overall height of under two metres (80 inches) allows it to fit into most garages and parking structures while still providing generous cargo space.

Turbocharged power
Power comes from a turbocharged 1.6-litre inline-four engine producing 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. This configuration is aimed at delivering efficient performance and responsive power for stop-and-go city driving.

Modern tech and safety
Inside, the van features a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with a digital rearview mirror to maintain visibility even when the cargo area is full. Safety technology includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and Driver Attention Alert, while the Passenger Wagon also features side-curtain airbags.

Work-ready design and trims
The exterior design prioritizes practicality, with high-mounted bumpers, a short front overhang and a raked hood that improves forward visibility. Flat bodysides also make it easier for businesses to apply branding or wraps. The SLT trim adds body-colour bumpers, fog lamps and 17-inch dual-tone wheels for a more polished appearance. The 2027 ProMaster City will be offered in Tradesman and SLT trims as either a Cargo Van or Passenger Wagon with seating for five or eight passengers. It is scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2027, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
