Cadillac is undergoing a bold transformation, with new models rapidly expanding General Motors’ electric vehicle portfolio. At the forefront of this evolution is yet another fresh addition: the Cadillac VISTIQ. This all-electric midsize luxury SUV slots neatly between the larger Escalade IQ and the more compact LYRIQ. In this review, we’ll be focusing on the VISTIQ Sport, a more accessible version of this sophisticated newcomer; our test model had an MSRP of $98,338 and was built at the Spring Hill, TN plant.

The 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ is the latest addition to the brand’s growing EV lineup, blending familiar design elements with a more assertive presence. Up front, it shares the illuminated grille, logo, and vertical LED daytime running lights seen on the LYRIQ, but with unique grille patterns across trims for a premium touch. While the LYRIQ leans sleek, the VISTIQ adopts a squared-off silhouette, taking cues from its larger sibling, the Escalade IQ. Notable exterior features include motorized door handles that extend and retract seamlessly, a front-mounted charging port (unlike the LYRIQ’s rear placement), and striking Opulent Blue Metallic paint. The 21-inch wheels with gray and black accents add a sporty flair, while a Mondrian-pattern decal near the C-pillar lends subtle sophistication. At the rear, vertical LED light bars double as brake lights and charge-status indicators with an elegant cascading effect. Overall, the VISTIQ’s bold, truck-like stance channels the Escalade IQ’s ruggedness, feeling like a modern evolution of the first-gen Escalade with contemporary refinement.

Inside, the VISTIQ delivers Cadillac’s signature upscale ambiance, featuring heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, plus heated second-row captain’s chairs. High-end materials adorn every surface, reinforcing its premium positioning. Borrowing a page from Mercedes, seat controls are mounted on the door panels for intuitive adjustments, while heated/ventilated seat settings and a steering wheel heater button are placed thoughtfully for ease of use. The cabin’s meticulous design underscores Cadillac’s commitment to distancing itself from mainstream brands like Buick, offering a distinctly elevated experience. The interior is impressively comfortable and available in either a 2-3-2 or 2-2-2 seating configuration (our tester had the latter). The second row featured captain’s chairs, offering enhanced space and comfort. Surprisingly, these seats aren’t power-operated, unlike the third row.

Cadillac has ensured rear passengers are well taken care of, equipping the area with plush seating, air vents, cupholders, and USB-C ports. While legroom in the third row may feel a bit snug for adults, headroom is generous thanks to the vehicle’s design and the fixed glass panel above, which extends the panoramic sunroof from the front and second rows. Cargo space is another strong point: the third row folds down electronically from the rear, and storage can increase from 431 litres (15.2 cu. ft.) to a maximum of 2,272 litres (80.2 cu. ft.). Even with all seats up, there’s enough room for a week’s worth of groceries!

A standout feature is the 33-inch curved display, which integrates the control panel, digital gauge cluster, and infotainment screen. The left side manages functions like the trip computer, lighting, and lane assist, while the gauge cluster can transform into a full-screen map or a minimalist display. The infotainment system, though lacking Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is responsive and easy to navigate, with quick-access buttons and support for Google and Spotify accounts. Audio is handled by the AKG Studio Reference system with Dolby Atmos, delivering an immersive experience, especially with acoustic, jazz, and orchestral tracks. While bass-heavy music lacks punch, the overall sound quality is exceptional. We’d rate it 9/10, nearly perfect, especially when paired with the comfort of those massaging leather seats. The center console houses cupholders, a tactile control knob for the infotainment system, and a climate control screen that includes seat massage settings. A subtle Cadillac script adds a refined touch.

The Cadillac VISTIQ delivers impressive performance beneath its refined exterior. Powered by a robust Ultium 102 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, this midsize luxury SUV generates 615 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque (880 Nm). Engaging Velocity Max mode (via the red V button on the steering wheel) unlocks full power, launching the vehicle from 0–100 kph in just 3.8 seconds, with acceleration that can be exhilarating or effortlessly smooth, depending on driving conditions. Despite its substantial dimensions (5.22m long, 2.8+ tons), the VISTIQ feels surprisingly agile. Even without the optional Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, our Sport trim, equipped with a 4-wheel independent sport suspension, minimized body roll and provided confident handling, especially at higher speeds. Drive modes adjust steering responsiveness, with Sport mode offering a firmer, more connected feel, while Tour mode prioritizes comfort. Braking performance is strong, with our trim’s setup handling deceleration well; the Platinum trim’s Brembo front brakes provide even greater stopping power.

With an EPA-estimated 491 km (305 mi) of range and 190 kW peak charging capability, the VISTIQ balances efficiency and practicality. Real-world testing yielded 4.1 km/kWh (24.4 kWh/100 km) on highways, with occasional peaks of 5.3 km/kWh (18.9 kWh/100 km), suggesting 500+ km (313+ mi) is achievable under ideal conditions. Charging speeds were consistent, averaging 121 kW (against a 176 kW max rating), replenishing 26% in 15 minutes—good for 128 km (80 mi) of added range. At home, a Level 2 charger can restore ~60% overnight, making daily use convenient.

The Cadillac VISTIQ is a compelling luxury SUV, blending modern styling with practicality. It comfortably seats six or seven and delivers strong performance, though that’s not its primary focus. Surprisingly spacious for an electric SUV, it offers exceptional value compared to rivals charging 30-40% more for smaller vehicles. The Sport trim is especially appealing, undercutting the next tier by nearly $20,000. What sets the VISTIQ apart is its focus on being a premium vehicle first, with electric power as a bonus, not the sole selling point. For buyers stepping into luxury from mainstream brands, it’s a great vehicle that redefines smart, electrified elegance!
