Mazda Cuts CX-70 and CX-90 PHEV Prices to Make Plug-In Hybrid Family SUVs More Accessible
Mazda Canada is making electrified driving more attainable for Canadian families by significantly lowering the entry price of its plug-in hybrid SUV lineup. Effective June 2, 2026, the 2026 CX-70 PHEV GS-SC now starts at $48,999, while the three-row CX-90 PHEV GS begins at $49,999. The revised pricing also allows both models to qualify for the federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP), making buyers eligible for incentives of up to $2,500.

The move comes as affordability remains a key concern for consumers and reflects Mazda’s effort to broaden access to electrified vehicles without sacrificing practicality. Both models combine electric driving capability with the convenience of a gasoline engine, offering a transition path for drivers who may not be ready to commit to a fully electric vehicle. The CX-70 PHEV delivers an estimated 51 kilometres of electric-only range, while the larger CX-90 PHEV offers up to 42 kilometres before the gasoline engine is required.

According to Mazda Canada President and CEO Amy Fleming, the pricing adjustment is designed to help Canadians reduce fuel costs while enjoying the benefits of plug-in hybrid technology. Beyond their electrified powertrains, the CX-70 and CX-90 continue to offer the premium design, driving dynamics, and advanced safety features that have become hallmarks of the Mazda brand.

The announcement is particularly welcome news, given the current demand for Mazda’s SUV lineup. At the time of writing, the Mazda CX-50 is listed as sold out on Mazda Canada’s website, highlighting strong consumer interest in the brand and making the newly discounted CX-70 and CX-90 PHEV models even more compelling alternatives for shoppers.
