Mitsubishi introduced the updated 2026 Outlander PHEV in Montreal before its official debut at the Montreal Auto Show. The changes focus on what matters most to Canadian buyers: more electric range, better efficiency, and greater everyday comfort. The main update is a new 22.7 kWh battery, which boosts the EV-only range by 18 percent to 72 km. This allows for more daily driving in electric mode, especially in cities and suburbs. The total driving range is now 690 km. Overall efficiency has improved. Combined fuel consumption is now 3.2 Le/100 km, and gas-only efficiency is 8.6 L/100 km for both city and highway driving. Mitsubishi also increased the EV power output, so the car responds faster and accelerates more smoothly in electric mode.

On the outside, the Outlander PHEV gets a subtle but important update. All trims have new wheel designs. Changes to the suspension, tires, and power steering aim to make the ride more comfortable and stable, especially on highways and rough Canadian roads. Inside, Mitsubishi listened to feedback from owners and the media. The centre console is redesigned for easier use, and there are new seat materials and colour options. Audio quality is much better with a new Yamaha system. Every trim now comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and updated digital gauge graphics. The Outlander PHEV still offers three rows of seats and comes with Super All-Wheel Control on every model. All trims include advanced driver assistance features, so safety is consistent no matter which version you choose.
The 2026 Outlander PHEV will be available across Canada in February, starting at $50,498. More details about trims and equipment will be shared closer to the launch date. Warranty coverage is still a major advantage. Buyers receive a 10-year or 160,000 km powertrain warranty, the same coverage for the lithium-ion battery, a 5-year or 100,000 km new vehicle warranty, and 5 years of unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance. With these updates, Mitsubishi strengthens the Outlander PHEV’s position as a practical family SUV.
